Maryland Montadale is a limited-edition yarn from a flock of Montadale sheep in western Maryland. The folks in the Chesapeake Bay Fibershed connected us with Gary Cavey, who, along with his wife, Liz, raised Montadale sheep in New Windsor, Maryland. After Liz passed away, Gary found a few hundred skeins of yarn in their basement—beautiful single-ply worsted-weight from their flock, spun at Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont. 

We purchased all the yarn from Gary and dyed it in some classic Plied Primary colors, as well as some new, more variegated colorways. It's been an adventure and an honor to bring this Maryland yarn to fiber artists!
